Hong Kong Cricket Sixes to receive PR overhaul
Hong Kong, 6 May 2008 - Two Up Front has added another significant sports event to its growing portfolio – the famous Hong Kong Cricket Sixes.
The company has reached an agreement with organisers to handle worldwide PR for the tournament, to be held at Kowloon Cricket Club on November 8-9.
Two Up Front will also be responsible for media management, meaning it will look after press accreditation and run the on-site media centre.
“We’re delighted to be involved in an event that is firmly established as the world’s premier six-a-side cricket tournament,” said Two Up Front editorial director Niall Donnelly.
“We have a proven track record of PR achievement in other major sports events, both in Hong Kong and throughout the region, and we’re confident of playing a key role in ensuring the 2008 Sixes is an outstanding success.”
The Cricket Sixes was first held in 1992 and has proved hugely popular with players and fans.
The tournament has attracted every cricketing superstar of the past 16 years, including Brian Lara, Shane Warne, Sachin Tendulkar, Viv Richards, Wasim Akram, Andrew Flintoff, Adam Gilchrist and the Waugh brothers, Steve and Mark.
Two Up Front already handles PR for three of Hong Kong’s biggest sports events – the UBS Hong Kong Open golf tournament, the GFI HKFC Tens rugby festival and the HKFC Philips Lighting International Soccer Sevens.
The company also handles worldwide PR for the prestigious Ballantine’s Championship golf tournament in Korea.
In addition, Two Up Front’s publishing division produces the acclaimed souvenir programme and pocket guide for the world famous Hong Kong Sevens rugby showpiece.
