GOAL! TWO UP FRONT SIGNS UP FOR SOCCER SEVENS Hong Kong, January 10, 2008 - Two Up Front has added another sport to its growing portfolio by winning the contract to handle PR for the world's premier seven-a-side football tournament, the HKFC Philips Lighting International Soccer Sevens. The event, to be held at Hong Kong Football Club on May 23-25, will feature a host of famous teams, including Arsenal, Aston Villa, Celtic, Rangers, PSV Eindhoven and Urawa Red Diamonds, and many household-name players. "We're very happy to be handling PR for the Soccer Sevens," said Two Up Front project director Simon Wait. "Given football's worldwide appeal, it has always been our desire to work on an event such as this and we're looking forward to helping make the 2008 Soccer Sevens a huge success. "We're planning an innovative and wide-ranging PR campaign that will increase awareness of the Soccer Sevens among the press and public in Hong Kong, regionally and around the world." The Soccer Sevens was first held in 1999 and has proved extremely popular with fans. The tournament comprises 32 teams who take part in two competitions, the Main draw and a Masters event. The agreement gives Two Up Front a hat-trick of PR contracts for high-profile sporting events in Hong Kong – the company already has golf's US$2.25 million UBS Hong Kong Open and the GFI HKFC Tens rugby tournament among its clients. In addition, Two Up Front handles PR for the €2 million (US$2.9 million) Ballantine's Championship golf tournament in Korea. The company's publishing arm produces the acclaimed official souvenir programme for the Hong Kong Sevens rugby showpiece plus various other rugby and golf publications.
