KOREA OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS

Hong Kong, August 18, 2007 - Two Up Front has added to its impressive golf portfolio by securing the public relations account for an exciting new €2 million (US$2.9 million) tournament in Korea.

The Ballantine’s Championship, sanctioned by the European Tour and Korea PGA, will be held at Pinx Golf Club on the picturesque island of Jeju from March 13-16, 2008.

Two Up Front has reached agreement with tournament promoter Parallel Media Group to handle worldwide PR and to work closely with local companies to drive PR within Korea.

In addition, Two Up Front’s expert staff will oversee the running of the on-site media centre for the duration of the tournament.

Two Up Front currently handles PR and publishing for the UBS Hong Kong Open, which is co-sanctioned by the European and Asian Tours and is one of Asia’s oldest and most prestigious golf tournaments.

“Having been involved in co-sanctioned tournaments in Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand, we are delighted to be undertaking our first venture in Korea,” said Two Up Front editorial director Niall Donnelly.

“We have made a valuable contribution to the success of events throughout the region and we have every confidence of doing likewise with the Ballantine’s Championship.

“We are looking forward to working closely with Parallel Media Group, Ballantine’s, the European Tour and the Korea PGA to ensure the inaugural Ballantine’s Championship is a world class sporting event.”

Ballantine’s, the world’s No.3 Scotch whisky, has signed a three-year title sponsorship agreement for the tournament, the first European Tour event to be held in Korea.

The tournament will be an “international” event open to all professionals, meaning entries will be determined by the Official World Golf Rankings rather than a player’s position on any particular tour’s Order of Merit.

Given this criteria, organisers are confident of creating an international field of world class players.
