TWO UP FRONT DELIVERS TCL PR SUCCESS Hong Kong, March 23, 2007 - Two Up Front are celebrating another PR success after generating outstanding media interest in China's TCL Classic. The tournament, staged on March 15-18 at Yalong Bay Golf Club in Sanya on the resort island of Hainan, attracted 101 journalists from 54 different media organisations – a significant increase on the previous year's media attendance figures. "The TCL Classic continues to go from strength to strength – that much is clear from the improved quality of the player field, the higher number of fans watching and the increased media interest," said Two Up Front editorial director Niall Donnelly. "It was particularly pleasing to see more than 90 mainland Chinese journalists attend the event because Hainan, unlike Beijing or Shanghai, is not a media hub, which meant that the vast majority of them had to fly in for the tournament. "The fact that they did so in such large numbers speaks volumes for the growing appeal of the TCL Classic and the excellent media management service we provide." In addition, 51 media personnel from 34 different organisations attended the TCL Classic press lunch at the Panglin Hotel in Shenzhen a month before the tournament, when they were granted interviews with China's No.1 golfer, Liang Wenchong. Two Up Front's multilingual staff also ran the hi-tech media centre at the TCL Classic, providing a variety of services that included arranging player interviews (both general and one-on-one), supplying player quotes to journalists and dealing with specific media requests. The US$1 million tournament – once again co-sanctioned by the European and Asian Tours – was won by Thailand's Chapchai Nirat, the first significant title of his fledgling career. The 2007 TCL Classic added to Two Up Front's impressive golfing portfolio, with the company currently handling worldwide PR for the prestigious UBS Hong Kong Open. The Hong Kong-based company is also involved in PR, publishing and event management in a number of other sports across Asia, including rugby, tennis and motor racing.
