HONG KONG SHOWPIECE SIGNS THREE-YEAR DEAL Hong Kong, September 25, 2006 - Two Up Front has secured a three-year agreement to handle public relations for the UBS Hong Kong Open, one of Asia's most storied and prestigious golf tournaments. The deal with event promoter Parallel Media Group comes after Two Up Front's key contribution towards making the 2005 UBS Hong Kong Open the most successful in the tournament's 47-year history, with a record number of journalists attending and media coverage at an all-time high. The agreement begins with the 2006 event – to be held on November 16-19 at the Hong Kong Golf Club in Fanling – and continues to the end of 2008. Two Up Front will handle worldwide public relations before, during and immediately after each tournament, a role which will include staffing the on-site media centre and producing daily news releases. The company will also design and publish the official souvenir programme and produce daily newsletters and scorecards for spectators. "We're delighted to have secured this long-term agreement to be closely involved with one of Asia's leading sports events," said Two Up Front project director Simon Wait. "As a result of our PR campaign and media management last year, 121 journalists from 14 different countries came to the tournament, far and away the best media attendance figure in the event's history. "The 2006 event will mark the second year of UBS's long-term sponsorship agreement and prize money has increased from US$1.2 million to US$2 million, so it is clear that the tournament – widely regarded as the jewel in the crown of Asian golf – will continue to expand and prosper. We're very happy to be involved in that process." The UBS Hong Kong Open will be the sixth significant golf tournament Two Up Front has worked on this year after the Hong Kong-based company handled PR for the Royal Trophy in Thailand, Maybank Malaysian Open, HSBC Indonesia Open, OSIM Singapore Masters and TCL Classic in China. All six events are co-sanctioned by the European and Asian Tours. FOR MORE INFORMATION CONTACT: info@tuf.com.hk
