REGIONAL GOLF DRIVE GATHERS PACE Hong Kong, January 20, 2006 - After teeing up in Hong Kong and Bangkok, fast-rising sports PR and publishing firm Two Up Front is going regional. The company has been contracted by Asia’s biggest golf promoter, Parallel Media Asia, to handle PR on behalf of four high-profile tournaments in February and March. The agreement comes after TUF’s hugely successful PR campaigns for the recent UBS Hong Kong Open – also promoted by PMA – and the Royal Trophy team tournament between Europe and Asia in Bangkok. "PMA were very happy with the quality of PR service we provided at the UBS Hong Kong Open and they were keen for us to work on their four other tournaments in the region," said TUF editorial director Niall Donnelly. "This is a significant agreement in that we are now truly expanding on a regional basis. Previously, we have worked on major events in Hong Kong, Bangkok and Beijing, where we handled PR for the China Open tennis tournament, but this takes us to the next level in terms of international profile." Under the terms of the agreement, TUF will look after PR on behalf of the Maybank Malaysian Open (February 16-19), the Enjoy Jakarta Indonesia Open (March 2-5), the Singapore Masters (March 9-12) and the TCL Classic in Hainan, China (March 16-19). The company will also be responsible for media management and running the press centre at the China tournament. TUF's performance at the UBS Hong Kong Open – held on December 1-4 at the Hong Kong Golf Club in Fanling – was a major factor in PMA asking the company to work on the four upcoming events. The company handled PR and media accreditation at the Hong Kong tournament, resulting in 121 journalists and photographers attending – the highest press turnout in the event's 47-year history. TUF also staffed the on-site media centre – praised by seasoned golf journalists as one of the best to be found anywhere on the European or Asian Tours – and produced a daily newsletter which was given to fans attending the final two rounds. In addition, TUF's 90-page official souvenir programme, which included 28 pages devoted to a lavish hole-by-hole guide, drew rave reviews. TUF is continuing to handle PR on behalf of the Hong Kong Tens rugby tournament and Hong Kong's official Le Mans motor racing team. The company is also producing the official souvenir programme and pocket guide for the 2006 Hong Kong Sevens rugby showpiece. FOR MORE INFORMATION CONTACT: info@tuf.com.hk |
