TWO UP FRONT TAKES CENTRE COURT AT CHINA OPEN Hong Kong, August 24, 2005 - Two Up Front has today reached an agreement with media giant TOM Group Limited to handle international public relations for the prestigious China Open tennis tournament. The deal will see Two Up Front handle PR on behalf of TOM Group – the event co-organiser – before, during and immediately after the tournament, to be held at the Beijing Tennis Centre from September 10-25. The agreement marks a return to the China Open for Two Up Front – the Hong Kong-based company handled pre-event publicity for the inaugural tournament last year, achieving worldwide media coverage and firmly putting the China Open on the tennis map. Welcoming the agreement, Two Up Front editorial director Niall Donnelly said: “We are delighted to be working closely with a major media player such as TOM Group on this event. The China Open features world-class players at a world-class venue – now it is up to us to provide world-class PR.” The announcement adds another high-profile sports event to Two Up Front’s rapidly expanding portfolio. The company’s PR clients include Noble Group-GruppeM Racing (Hong Kong’s first Le Mans motor racing team); Asia’s most prestigious golf event, the UBS Hong Kong Open; and the Hong Kong Tens rugby tournament. Two Up Front’s publishing ventures include the Rugby World Cup Sevens 2005 official programme and pocket guide and Rugby Talk (the official magazine of the Hong Kong Rugby Football Union). At this year’s China Open, the men’s singles will be headlined by French Open winner Rafael Nadal, while the women’s singles will feature four of the biggest names in the game, Venus and Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova and Lindsay Davenport.
